Songfinch

During my time as the Social Media Manager at Songfinch, I drove drastic social growth through data-driven strategy and management. I also oversaw our Community Manager and led social media creative ideation. The creative team created most of the content, while I stepped in when needed.

From large holiday giveaways and viral moments, I am extremely proud of the campaigns I helped launch and the growth that took place. I’m most proud of the ways we used social media to build up our independent artists — through spotlights, IG Lives, Spotify playlists, and so much more. Below are visual examples of some of my favorite social moments.

Viral reveal video

One of the wildest moments of my year was having my first viral moment. The above video was used in an ad on Facebook and started catching a little bit of traction on Instagram before actor D. L. Hughley posted the video to his own account. The video then took off all over Instagram. Celebrities and media accounts kept posting the video and people began pouring onto our Instagram. It created a major community management challenge that the whole social team worked together to solve. Between myself and our creative director, we quickly came up with a viral moment strategy and handled the situation by posting the video to all our accounts, posting variations of it, promoting the artist, giving away songs, and having fun in the comment sections.

Summer party social producing

Back in September, we had a huge Summer send-off party where a hand-full of our artists were flown in to perform and make content. One of my favorite moments from this event was producing social content and creating a memorable and exciting first social shoot experience for these artists. The above artist, Companyon, was gushing about how exciting it was and I’m sure he will be a part of many more shoots like that in the future. This content type was also fun to shoot because we made the artists read raving reviews about them. It was so fun to see them react and our followers agree.d

Christmas studio session giveaway

For Christmas, we decided to do a five-day giveaway where people could win a one-hour studio session with a different artist each day. We worked with the artists to create social content that showed off their personalities and made people want to come work with them. This campaign drove up our engagement rate, follower count, and song orders. It also increased the five artists’ own follower counts and got them to full capacity before Christmas.

Promoting diverse love

One thing I am most proud of during my time at Songfinch, was the ability to show off diverse love stories. We unfortunately had tougher community management days when we posted LGBTQ+ content, but it was worth it to show that these stories matter and that Songfinch is an ally.

Artist of the month campaign

One way we decided to support our artists was by spotlighting three per month. They each got one full week of spotlights, Instagram Lives, Instagram takeovers, TikToks, and so much more — all driving to their artist profile page on our website. The goal was to increase their custom song orders and we usually helped put them at full capacity by the end of their week.

Hiring posts

I always loved posting hiring content on LinkedIn and showing off how fun it was to work for Songfinch. These posts always got all of our key stakeholders excited — our employees, artists, customers, and potential employees and investors. Aside from pure positive sentiment, these posts helped increase our engagement rate and follower count.

Songfinch Stereo

One of my favorite launches of the year was Songfinch Stereo — a Spotify account where we promote our artists’ original music. It didn’t generate a ton of buzz from customers, but made our artists feel extremely valued and excited, which was always one of my goals for social. For the initial launch, I started curating the New Artists, Featured Artists, and New Music Fridays playlists. I began to update and cross-promote those three, as well as add new playlists, created by our Music Team, weekly.
