Vanderbilt Health (health care system)
In February 2023, I was hired at Vanderbilt Health as their Lead Communications Specialist, where I managed the daily operations of the social media team while also creative directing the work and enacting data-informed digital and creative strategies for all owned social media accounts. I also identified and led implementation of new marketing technology tools and systems, such as the password protection tool, Keeper, and the social media listening tool, Sprout Social. More so, I was also responsible for leading the social media team in crisis communications situations.
In March 2025, I was promoted to Digital Engagement Manager. I now have ownership of all social media operations and strategy, along with a couple direct reports. While managing this team, I directly oversee the operations of 12 social media pages — 6 of which we are actively working to grow and 6 are under strategic re-evaluation this year after a department layoff in June 2024. There are an additional 3 social media pages whose content I oversee to ensure it does not pose a risk to the organization, but I am not responsible for their performance. While all accounts continue to see year-over-year growth in engagement and reach, I am most proud of the 1,020% engagement increase we’ve seen on our LinkedIn page over the last 2 years. There are various external factors that likely impacted that, but I also think my team’s content curation and creation, efficiency, and community management positively impacted that increase.
Additionally, I now oversee some non-social media digital marketing projects through my direct report who manages physician email marketing. I continue to lead process changes, major brand campaign work as it affects our team, and crisis communication efforts.
Work examples to come, but in the meantime, you can find my team’s work on these social media accounts:
